Copper, Silver, & Zinc
Copper
Electrically charged ions (Cu2+) in the water attract particles of opposite polarities, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Silver
Electrically charged ions (Cu2+) in the water attract particles of opposite polarities, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Zinc
Electrically charged ions (Cu2+) in the water attract particles of opposite polarities, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Sediment filters are designed to remove suspended solids. The filter has a bed of natural media (sand, anthracite, etc.). As the water passes through this bed, unwanted dirt particles become trapped.
A filter with granular activated carbon (GAC) is a proven option to remove certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water.
Ultrafiltration is one membrane filtration process that serves as a barrier to separate harmful bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants from clean water.
Electrically charged ions (Cu2+) in the water attract particles of opposite polarities, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
The +vely charged copper ions form electrostatic compounds with -vely charged cells walls of microorganisms.
These compounds disturb the cells wall permeability and cause nutrient uptake to fail in the cell bodies.
The copper ions penetrate the cell wall and create an entrance for silver ions (Ag+) to do the same.
The newly entered silver ions bond to various parts of the cell, such as DNA and RNA cellular proteins and respiratory enzymes, causing all life supports the system in the cell to be immobilized.
This means that there is no more cellular growth or cell division within. Bacteria can no longer multiply and eventually they die out.
All the ions remain active until they are absorbed by microorganisms and hence maintain the long term purity of the water.

Ionization based products retain/add the minerals in the water, whereas RO based products demineralize the water.
Ionization RO and UV based products coupled with filtration remove/kill the microflora in water to almost the same extent.
Water Purified using ionization based products have disinfectant capabilities for personal hygiene (hand swab study under this project) and vegetable(s) (spinach study under this project).
All four technologies including ionization based technology are capable of removing more than 80% of the pesticide residues from water.
